Mateus is responsible for everything the studio ships that has to keep running after we leave. He sits in the design conversations from the first week, on the theory that the cheapest time to find out something is impossible is before it has been drawn.
He has a particular tolerance for the unfashionable half of the work: data migration, reconciliation, the importer that has to read twenty years of undocumented files. Most of the longest client relationships in the studio are things he maintained.
